Coming soon to Victoria, BCThe Friendship Project is a hosted social experience designed to make meeting new people feel natural, warm, and low-pressure by focusing on casual small-group activities.
Small preference-based groups
Groups of 4-6 people are pre-assigned based on collective preferences. What kind of connections are you looking for? Are certain lifestyle compatibilities important to you?
Casual activities
Choose from activities that facilitate low-pressure socializing and collaboration.

We currently plan to offer 3 different types of events:
Choose from a number of casual activities. We provide the venue and materials, and a host will be onsite if you have any questions, but this is primarily a self-guided experience.
This is an instructor-led experience, like a painting class, with opportunities to socialize and collaborate with your group while learning a new skill.
Similar to Casual Hangout but with a recurring cadence. Same people, different activities every week!
On event day, find your table and meet your fellow group members.
After the event, you can opt into a group chat and select people you want to reconnect with. If interest is mutual, you can keep chatting and exchange contact details.
I started The Friendship Project because I witnessed loved ones and strangers alike struggling with loneliness. Third spaces are disappearing, going out is expensive, and dating apps profit more from unsuccessful matches than successful ones. Forming meaningful and long-lasting relationships is harder than ever before.
As an introvert, the thought of approaching people at a meet-up full of strangers was never appealing to me, and many classes are not conducive to socializing during class. I missed doing group projects in university (though not the part where you were graded on them!) and thought, why is there not something like that for adults outside of university?

Casual activities will include jigsaw puzzles, lego kits, arts and crafts, card games, board games, creative writing, and more!
Most likely at various community gathering spaces in Victoria, BC.
The Friendship Project aims to keep costs as low as possible. Registration fees will be colleceted to cover venue rental, activity materials, insurance and operating costs such as website hosting and marketing. Some activities may cost extra. Exact fees are disclosed at registration time.
